Open Access Information and Policy – IJCERT Journal

At IJCERT Journal, we are committed to advancing knowledge by providing immediate, free, and unrestricted access to high-quality research. Our Open Access Policy ensures that scholars, researchers, and practitioners worldwide can access, read, download, and share published articles without financial or legal barriers.

1. What is Open Access?

Open Access (OA) is a publishing model that enables unrestricted access to scholarly research. By removing paywalls and subscription requirements, OA promotes knowledge dissemination, increases visibility, and fosters academic collaboration globally.

2. IJCERT’s Open Access Commitment

We believe that knowledge should be freely available to all. Our Open Access policy aligns with global best practices, ensuring that all published articles are:

  • Freely Accessible: Available online without any cost to readers.

  • Licensed for Reuse: Published under Creative Commons licenses to facilitate knowledge sharing.

  • Indexed & Discoverable: Included in reputable databases for broad visibility.

3. Licensing & Copyright

To maintain transparency and legal clarity, IJCERT applies Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) License to its publications. Under this license:

  • Readers can copy, distribute, and adapt the work for any purpose, provided appropriate credit is given.

  • Authors retain copyright while granting rights to IJCERT for the initial publication.

4. Benefits of Open Access Publishing with IJCERT

  • Global Reach: Researchers worldwide can access and cite your work.

  • Higher Impact: Increased visibility leads to greater recognition and citation.

  • Unrestricted Sharing: Freely share your research without limitations.

  • Author Ownership: Maintain copyright while enabling broad dissemination.

5. Article Processing Charges (APCs)

To sustain our Open Access model, IJCERT applies a nominal Article Processing Charge (APC). This fee covers:

  • Editorial processing and peer review

  • Digital archiving and indexing

  • Long-term preservation of published articles

We ensure transparency in APCs, and waivers/discounts are available for authors from low-income countries.

6. Archiving & Repository Policy

IJCERT is dedicated to ensuring the long-term preservation and accessibility of all published articles. Our archiving and repository policy includes:

  • LOCKSS & CLOCKSS Systems: Our journal content is preserved through Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe (LOCKSS) and Controlled LOCKSS (CLOCKSS) to ensure redundancy and continuous access.

  • PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN): We use the PKP PN to provide a secure, decentralized preservation system for Open Access journals.

  • Self-Archiving Policy: Authors are encouraged to deposit their preprints and postprints in institutional repositories, subject-based repositories (e.g., arXiv, PubMed Central), and personal websites.

  • DOI and CrossRef Integration: Each published article is assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) for permanent and stable linking.

  • OAI-PMH Compliance: Our journal supports Open Archives Initiative Protocol for Metadata Harvesting (OAI-PMH), facilitating content discoverability across repositories and indexing services.

  • National and Institutional Deposits: Where applicable, IJCERT deposits published content in national libraries and institutional repositories to enhance accessibility and longevity.

7. Ethical Considerations & Compliance

IJCERT adheres to COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines to ensure ethical publishing. We uphold integrity, transparency, and accountability in Open Access publishing.
